-Shrine of the Lord of La Piedad
With the largest dome in the country and the third largest in Latin America, the Santuario del Señor de La Piedad is an imposing and majestic construction dating from the 18th century.
It is located in the historic center of the city of La Piedad Michoacán, Mexico. It was built between 1741 and 1750 in honor of the Lord of La Piedad.
-The jump ( El Salto)
The renowned waterfall that bears the name "El Salto", formed in the riverbed of the Lerma river, 30 meters high and located 17 km southeast of La Piedad de Cavadas.
It is a tourist attraction visited by the impressive waterfall, which was used as a source of energy for the movement of turbines that generated electricity.
-Cavadas Bridge
Founded in 1932 by order of the priest of the Sanctuary of the Lord of La Piedad, at that time José María Cavadas Dávalos; the “Puente Cavadas” that bears his name in honor of him, is a construction that has given identity to this beautiful city. It was built in pink quarry by artisans from the region, having as its main characteristic the connection of the states of Michoacán and Guanajuato.
It has an architecture formed by ten Roman-style arches, also quarry seats. Below, are the waters of the Lerma river. The construction continues to be used as a pedestrian crossing for the inhabitants of La Piedad and Santa Ana.
-Archaeological Zone of Zaragoza
Belonging to the classical era and located on a hill at the foot of stone walls, built and inhabited between 600 and 900 AD, the Archaeological Zone of Zaragoza is formed by a ceremonial civic square that was used for the ball game, terraces agricultural and rooms.
In the Area, different remains of prehistoric objects and 175 petroglyphs have been found.
